Know why you’re unable to receive money in your Paytm Wallet

Today there are more merchants and consumers across India using Paytm than ever before. Given our widespread adoption, we have received several queries regarding transaction limits and delays caused while paying money using Paytm.

There are two possible reasons why you would not be able to receive money in your Paytm Wallet.

  1. You have already received Rs. 20,000 in your Paytm Wallet this month: When you sign up on Paytm, as per the RBI’s regulations, you can add up to Rs. 20,000/- in a calendar month. To increase your wallet limits, upgrade your Paytm account by doing KYC. It’s instant and 100% paperless. 
  2. You have not completed your registration: Opening a Paytm account is quick and easy. However, if you have not entered all the necessary details — full name, contact number and date of birth among others, your Paytm account would not be created. Also, please ensure you have an active internet connection throughout the process.

Users often think they have not received money in their Paytm Wallet as they don’t receive an SMS confirmation about the same. That can be misleading.

Here are three reasons why you might not be receiving SMS confirmation:

  1. The mobile number registered with us is different from the one you’re currently using.
  2. Your SMS Inbox is full.
  3. There is a network issue at the mobile operator’s end.
